Beethoven Sonata in G

Even though Caleb still has some work to do perfecting this piece, I thought I would share it since it's been a little while...

First Days of School

Adelina and Caleb started the first and third grades on Tuesday September 1st. They were all smiles that day and I'm anxiously awaiting the day when we can get back to such happy mornings!
Levi was super excited to start his first day of pre-K on Wednesday September 9th. He's a real big kid now that he has lunch at school on Mondays while I lead a new moms' group.

Last Beach Day Before School

The kids and I managed to sneak in one last beach trip before school started. We started our day with a hike through the dunes at Crane Beach. We'd never done it before, and it's a shame we hadn't...such a beautiful place!

After getting spoiled by the warm waters off the coast of North Carolina, the kids couldn't believe how cold the water was at first. But they quickly got back to their New England roots and embraced the chill.
Levi was very hard at work on drip castles.

 Warming up in the sun!

Caleb and Levi worked very hard together to make this network of caves, tunnels, and castles. It's one of the few things they agree on!

Caleb's Piano Photo Shoot

We had such a great time with Mel Madden during our family photo shoot, so we decided to have her take some pictures of Caleb and our new piano. I love the pictures of his little hands!

Boston Harbor Island

After living here for 15 years, we decided it was finally time to visit one of the Boston Harbor Islands. I'm a little behind, so I'm not exactly sure when we went....one Saturday in late August. We took a short ferry ride from Long Wharf over to Spectacle Island. Spectacle Island used to be a landfill, but then was transformed using tons of dirt excavated from the Big Dig. We had a lot of fun exploring the island and seeing Boston from a different vantage point.

After we had our fill of island life, we headed back to the city for some more fun. It was a pretty hot day, so the kids enjoyed cooling off in the fountains. We shopped at the new Boston Public Market and then ended up in the North End for some fantastic pizza.
