Last Day of School

And just like that, another school year is finished! It was a big week for our family. Between Grammy and Grandpa visiting, Caleb's recital, and the last day of school...there was a lot of excitement!

Everyone zipped up the Hancock Street hill on the last day of school!
We'll definitely miss our three times a week walk to school parties!

In addition to it being the last day of school, the kids also had their 100 Mile Club celebration to look forward to.

Caleb and Adelina walked hand in hand out to the ceremony, which was very sweet.

You can see Levi's hand waving to them on the hard top.
Mrs. Beaded announced each child that participated and their total number of miles. As you can see below, Adelina finished in 2nd place with 192 miles and Caleb finished in 1st place with 348 miles. It was a proud moment!

Grammy and Grandpa took us to Turner's for dinner and Caleb celebrated the end of a great school year with a lobster!

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken on Sunday June 7th. It's always a little stressful, but we had a great photographer and she got some great shots.

Caleb's Piano Recital

Caleb had the opportunity to play at Music 101's annual recital on both Saturday June 20th and Sunday June 21st this year. He has literally spent hundreds of hours preparing for this occasion and all of his hard work, dedication, and love of piano really showed. On Saturday, he was the last performer before the Intermission and he brought down the house.
You can watch his performance of Mozart's Twelve Variations on Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star below.

He also performed during the second half of the recital, where he debuted his own composition, Andante e Presto.

He played the same two pieces on Sunday. I've posted the videos for those performances as well.

Oscar and Levi

Oscar is becoming more and more tolerant as he gets older. He has a strong bond with the kids, and especially seems to like Levi. Levi was playing some game the other day with Oscar and the poor cat endured blankets and all kinds of other activities.

Secretary Caleb

Last week Caleb expressed interest in running for the Hoover School Student Site Council. Students from grades 3, 4, and 5 were eligible to run for office. It was actually a highly competitive election, with 40 students running for only 3 spots total. Each candidate gave a speech to the school on Monday morning and Levi and I went to watch. I was very impressed with all of the students and their speeches. At the end of the day, I was extremely surprised and very happy to learn that Caleb had been elected by his peers as the Site Council Secretary. Here is his speech.

Last T-Ball Game

Today was Levi's last T-ball game of the season. It's been such a great season for him and he's really enjoyed being a member of a team. So proud of our little number 7!
